The Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship Award Scheme.

Every year the Foundation joins the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian Armed Forces to celebrate Armed Forces Remembrance Day on January 15th by awarding scholarships to children of deceased armed forces personnel who lost their lives in service to the Nation.

A few months ahead of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, applications are received from children of deceased Armed Forces Personnel who are in Junior Secondary Schools across the Country.

The applications are processed on a number of criteria including immediate past results of the applicants, a short essay as well as current status of surviving parents/guardians.

Upon conclusion of the review process, the best performing students are selected and deemed eligible for the Awards in the following year subject to verification of information provided during the application stage.

Since its inception, the Foundation set to work on its mission to promote the quality of education in various communities across Nigeria and to provide accessibility to standard education by desiring youths.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship Award Scheme is an initiative of the Foundation set up to ensure that young brilliant children of deceased armed forces personnel who lost their lives in the service of the Nation are not deprived of access to quality education.

The Awards are given out annually on or around the 15th of January to closely coincide with the commemoration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Nigeria, however the grants are paid out at the beginning of the School Session in August/September of the same year.
