2016 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship Awards (“AFRDSA”) ceremony was held at Sofitel, the Moorhouse Hotel, on Armed Forces Remembrance Day, 2015. In attendance were, Brig. Gen. B. S. Ipinyomi, representing the Commander of the Nigerian Army Education Corps, Capt. Ode of the Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, representing the Commandant of the Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, Mr. Patrick Ndiomu of the Ndiomu Family, Mrs. Ifeoma Udom of Vetiva Trustees Limited, Trustee Manager to the Foundation, Ms Bukie Olanrewaju, Managing Partner of Axiom Learning Solutions Limited, technical consultant to the Foundation.

Seventeen secondary school students were recipients of the year’s AFRDSA awards.

2015 TRAIN-THE-TRAINER INITIATIVE - OSUN STATE

The 2015 Teachers’ Training Programme on Classroom Management & Activity Oriented Lessons in Core Subjects for Junior Secondary School Teachers, was held in Osogbo, Osun State. The two-day training was organised by the Foundation, in conjunction with the Osun State ministry of education and the State Universal Basic Education Board (“SUBEB”).

40 (forty) participants, comprising 34 subject teachers in diverse subject areas from 20 schools across the State, and 6 education inspectors from the State Ministry of Education were nominated for the programme. All participants were registered on arrival and in the usual manner, provided with the Foundation’s branded bags, training manuals, and other training materials.

At the closing ceremony of the programme, Mr. Lawrence Oyelade Oyeniran (permanent secretary, Osun State Ministry of Education) representing the Deputy Governor/COmmissioner of Education, Osun State, Her Excellency, Otunba (Mrs.) Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, who sent a letter of appreciation to the Foundation. Certificates of Participation were handed out to the participants at the end of the event.

Eleven secondary school students were presented with scholarship award letters for the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship Awards at an event held at the Foundation’s secretariat at No. 1, Taofeek Lawal Street, Off Raymond Njoku Street, South West, Ikoyi, Lagos on Thursday, 15th January 2015. In attendance were, Col. J. C. Nwasor, the deputy Commander of the Command Schools Services representing the Commander of the Command Schools Services, Mr. Patrick Ndiomu of the Ndiomu Family, Ifeoma Udom of Vetiva Trustees Limited, Trustee Manager to the Foundation and Mr. Ani Charles Bassey-Eyo, Managing Partner of Axiom Learning Solutions Limited, technical consultant to the Foundation.

2014 TRAIN-THE-TRAINER INITIATIVE - BAYELSA STATE

The 2014 Teachers’ Training Programme was held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. With the co-operation of the Bayelsa State Government, and the commitment of the technical consultant on the project, the Foundation was able to train 38 junior secondary school teachers from across the local governments of the State for 2 days on Classroom Management & Activity-Oriented Lessons in Basic Science, Technology & Mathematics. The training was held at the Community Primary School, Biogbolo, Bayelsa State from 2nd - 3rd July, 2014.
