2022 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

To celebrate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day this year, the Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation in its usual custom, has awarded scholarships to 24 children of some of the deceased fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

This is the 9th edition of the awards. A complete list of successful awardees can be accessed on the  website of the Foundation (www.charlesbebeyendiomufoundation.org). Vetiva Trustees Limited, trustee manager to the Foundation on behalf of its Board of Trustees, expressed the Foundation’s continued appreciation for the constant support of its donors and partners. The Trustee Manager, through its representative, Mrs. Theresa Orji, expressed the Foundation’s gratitude to continue this tradition in spite of attendant challenges and its hopes to continue well into the future with continued support.

The Foundation especially commends the continued co-operation of the Nigerian Armed Forces in assisting in spreading information about the Awards, as well as the collating and verifying the finalists.

2021 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

To celebrate the Armed Forces Remembrance Day this year, the Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation in its usual custom, has awarded scholarships to 21 children of some of the deceased rank and file of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

This is the 8th edition of the awards. A complete list of successful awardees can be accessed on the  website of the Foundation (www.charlesbebeyendiomufoundation.org). The Trustee Manager to the Foundation, Vetiva Trustees Limited, in making this known expressed the Foundation’s appreciation for the continued support of its donors and partners. The Trustee Manager, through its representative, Mrs. Theresa Orji, stated that despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and it attendant challenges, the Foundation was pleased to continue its tradition of giving the awards to the children of deceased Armed Forces Personnel who lost their lives in the service of the Nation.

2019 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

On 15th January 2019, the Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation awarded scholarships to 23 children of some of the deceased rank and file of the Nigerian Armed Forces to commemorate the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, in an awards ceremony held in Lagos.

The Foundation celebrated the 6th edition of the awards which have been given away annually since its establishment in 2014. Trustee Manager to the Foundation, Vetiva Trustees Limited, in a statement by its representative, Theresa Orji, announcing this year’s awardees, stated that “the Foundation was happy to continue doing its part in ensuring that the children of our nation’s fallen heroes have access to education”.

The Foundation commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for its continued co-operation and assistance in the dissemination of information as well as the collation and verification of the recipients. Orji expressed the Foundation’s profound gratitude to the various Divisions of the Armed Forces involved in ensuring that the Foundation’s objective for the Awards is achieved from year to year.

As with previous awards, recipients of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship awards hail from different states of the federation.

The Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation was launched in 2013 to immortalize Major-General Charles Bebeye Ndiomu (CFR, FSS, MNI), who apart from being a military top-brass was a silent philanthropist with a passion for education and religious causes. The Foundation’s mission amongst others, is ensuring access to quality education for all in an environment where international best practice is standard - an ideal for which Major-General Ndiomu stood for during his lifetime.

2017 TRAIN-THE-TRAINER INITIATIVE - LAFIA, NASARAWA

In conjunction with the Nasarawa State Government, the Foundation organised a two-day teachers’ training programme for 40 (forty) teachers from across the 19 local government areas of Nasarawa State in 2017.

It was encouraging to note that there was full attendance for the two days despite the tension within the sector in the State.

At the closing ceremony, Alh. Tijani A. Ahmed (the Commissioner for Education) represented the Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, also in attendance were Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu AGwai (permanent secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Education), Mallam Dauda Sabo, Mallam Abdullahi Garaba and Mallam Adamu Abdullahi of the Ministry of local government and chieftancy affairs.

Certificates of attendance were handed out to participants at the workshop at the closing ceremony.
